Dear Parents and Jazz All Stars!

Unfortunately Nativity's Gym is Unavailable for Sunday's rehearsal. I was hoping the other group that signed it out would be able to move their event but it doesn't look like that will happen. I also reached out to Archbishop Wood but their winter musical Mary Poppins is this weekend so we cannot use their band room or stage. So at this time I am going to have to cancel this weekend Rehearsal! I am going to attempt to reschedule for another date, possible closer to our first competition to give us time to prep. Please continue to work on your music I will see you all January 3rd! Have a wonderful Christmas and please check back on the blog regularly for any updates!

Hello Jazz All Stars!
By now hopefully you have all seen the list for this years Jazz All Stars on the AEmusic.org website. Our first rehearsal will be THIS SUNDAY! at Nativity of Our Lord School (585 w. street rd warminster pa 18974) Rehearsal will be in the Nativity Community Center located to the right of the school. Please fill out both the PARENT INFORMATION FORM as well as sign up for my text ALERT SYSTEM! Rehearsal will begin promptly at 1:30pm and run until 4:00pm please be on time so that we can hit the ground running!

April 17th

Hello Everyone, 

It looks like the overwhelming consensus is that we will NOT be able to perform at the April 17th showcase @ ABW. There are far to many conflicts to be able to put together a band for this date. I have been slowly receiving info on the World Meeting of Families performances and will pass that info along soon. I would love to meet one more time before the end of the year either for a concert or even just one last rehearsal before summer (maybe we can do a Pizza lunch or something) Please keep an eye on your email inboxes as well as the blog for more info as it comes out! Thanks again!!

Hello Everyone!

We have been asked to perform at the first ever elementary Showcase of Excellence April 17th at Archbishop Wood HS! This is a Archdiocesan event that highlights all the amazing things going on in our elementary schools! We don't have an official time yet but we will be performing some time between 4pm-7pm (I'm gonna ask to be at the end if possible) Please fill out this form to let me know if you can make it, we can only do it if we have enough people to cover parts. This would be a GREAT place to showcase the amazing job your kids have done this year. Please do all you can to attend!

TIME CHANGE FOR HARRISBURG!!!!

Hello Everyone! 

Please be advised our departure time has been moved up!!! The bus will be leaving at 8:30am NOT 9:00am as originally planned. Please make arrangements to arrive with plenty of time to board and load equipment. Here is tomorrows revised schedule.

Dress Code is School Uniform!

Kids will be fed pizza but should bring a snack for the bus ride to an from if they will be hungry! (Peanut FREE)

VJM Jazz fest music

Hello Everyone, 

I was hoping to find a way to schedule a rehearsal before Saturdays competition however I have been unable to find a suitable time and location close enough to VJM. So, that means we will be going into this festival without any extra practice. The main problem with that is we have been asked to perform 4 songs (1 warmup and 3 to be judged) Please have your students ready to play Girl from Ipanema as that will be our warmup. It is crucial that everyone comes prepared please have your students take time on this lovely snow day to practice along with the link posted above. 

We will meet at VJM at 6pm on Saturday, dress code is the same as last weekend. Stay warm and stay safe!

UPDATE! 2/24/2015

IHello Parents! 

I am still finishing up my bulk email list for this years Jazz All Stars. I am missing emails from Liam Wright, Ethan Cirks, and Aidan Hearn. If you see them please ask them to stop by the blog and fill out the info forms! 

This weekend FEB 28th will be our first Jazz Festival at Mater Dei in Lansdale. Students should report by 6pm to the warmup room. Attached are times and directions for Mater Dei. 

Songs for Mater Dei- Four, Afro Blue, and Sing, Sing, Sing

March 7th will be our festival at VJM I will be attempting to find a time between now and then to rehearse but I am still looking for a good location/time MORE INFO TO COME!!!!

March 8th- We will be rehearsing at 1:30. I would like students to begin working on Chameleon and The Girl from Ipanema to add to our set that day!! Please use the listening links below and come prepared!!!

Our Harrisburg Trip will be MARCH 11th! All students are assumed to be attending unless I have heard otherwise! The info is listed below....

Buses will pick us up at Carroll at 9:00 AM.  Performance from 12 noon to 1:00 PM.  Tour of the capitol building.  We should return somewhere between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.

PLEASE FILL OUT THIS HARRISBURG TRIP ATTENDANCE FORM there are only 4 seats left on the bus which holds 42 people. Please note if you are willing to drive separate! Thanks

Rehearsal!

Hello Parents,
Please make sure you fill out the form in the previous post so I may finish the email list. We will not have a rehearsal before Feb 28th's festival at Mater Dei but we WILL be rehearsing before the honor band concert.  Please have your students ready to perform the 3 pieces we did at the festival band concert (Sing Sing Sing, Four, and Afro Blue). They should also be working on Chameleon and Girl From Ipanema for the honor band concert. Thanks!

Dress code for Jazz Festival at Mater Dei is Black pants, Black shirt, Black shoes, FUN TIE! Ladies may wear a dress (Knee length or longer) or a blouse and black dress pants what ever they are more comfortable in. Thanks so much!

REHEARSAL CANCELED TODAY!!!

Hello All,

Sorry to say but we are going to cancel rehearsal today due to the Ice on the roads. Apparently the turnpike has been shut down, please stay home and be safe!! If you know any fellow jazz members phone numbers please don't hesitate to text them and let them know rehearsal has been canceled. Stay warm!
